Undercoating & Rust Protection for Ford F-150 in the Rio Grande Valley
The best-selling truck in America. Aluminum body from 2015 on.
Fitting your Ford F-150
The F-150 comes in three bed lengths and three cabs, so we match accessories to your exact bed — a cap for a 5.5-foot SuperCrew will not fit a 6.5-foot bed. From 2015 the body is aluminum, which matters for bed liners and any drilling. The 2021+ trucks have more electronics, so lighting and sensor recalibration is common. The Lightning is electric and takes most of the same bed accessories.
What fits your Ford F-150
- Three bed lengths — 5.5, 6.5, and 8 ft — so the bed is the first thing we confirm
- Caps, tonneaus, and liners in all three bed sizes
- Leveling kits and 2 to 4-inch lifts for the independent front suspension
- Lighting and grille work on 2021+ trucks often needs sensor recalibration
What we check before ordering
-
The aluminum bed needs different liner prep than steel — bare aluminum must be etched
-
5.5 and 6.5 ft beds are not interchangeable for caps or tonneaus
-
2021+ trucks have cameras and sensors that can be blocked by bumper and grille parts
Ford F-150 fitment questions
What bed lengths does the F-150 come in?
5.5 ft, 6.5 ft, and 8 ft, depending on cab. Caps, tonneau covers, and liners are bed-specific, so we confirm your exact bed before ordering.
Does an aluminum F-150 bed need special liner prep?
Yes. Bare aluminum has to be scuffed and etched before a spray-on liner bonds, or it peels. That prep is most of the job on these trucks.
Will a light bar or grille block my front camera?
It can on 2021+ trucks. We check camera and sensor locations and recalibrate where needed so your driver aids keep working.
About undercoating & rust protection
Rust is the slow killer of trucks in the Rio Grande Valley, and Brownsville has it worst. Salt air off the Gulf attacks the frame, rocker panels, brake lines, and every exposed fastener long before the body shows it. Undercoating is the cheapest insurance you can buy against it — a few hundred dollars now instead of a frame that is unsafe in ten years.
What it costs on a Ford F-150
- Entry
- $200–$500 (oil or wax coating, single application)
- Mid
- $500–$1,000 (full undercarriage plus frame rails and seams)
- Premium
- $1,000–$2,000 (rubberized or epoxy system, wheel wells, rockers, touch-up schedule)
Final price depends on your Ford F-150 year, cab, and bed. We quote up front.
