Exhaust & Mufflers for RAM 1500 in the Rio Grande Valley
Coil-spring rear suspension makes it the best-riding full-size truck.
Fitting your RAM 1500
The RAM 1500 uses coil springs in the rear instead of leaf springs, which changes how lift kits and air-bag helpers are installed. The RamBox bed storage option changes tonneau and cap fitment. The Rebel and TRX trims are factory-lifted, and the TRX is much wider, so clearance parts differ.
What fits your RAM 1500
- Three bed lengths — 5.7, 6.4, and 8 ft
- Caps and tonneaus sized to your bed, with RamBox needing a different fit
- Coil-spring rear means lift kits and air-bag helpers install differently
- Rebel and TRX are factory-lifted, TRX with a much wider track
What we check before ordering
-
The RamBox option changes tonneau and cap fitment entirely
-
Coil-spring rear suspension means no leaf-spring lift blocks
-
The TRX is much wider — standard bumpers and flares will not fit
RAM 1500 fitment questions
Does the RamBox change what tonneau fits?
Yes. Trucks with the RamBox bed storage need a RamBox-specific tonneau or cap, because the bed rails are wider. We confirm before ordering.
How is lifting a RAM different?
The RAM 1500 has coil springs in the rear, not leaf springs, so there are no leaf-spring lift blocks. It uses coil spacers or replacement coils instead.
Can you fit a lifted RAM TRX?
Yes, but the TRX is much wider than a standard 1500, so bumpers, flares, and clearance parts have to be TRX-specific.
About exhaust & mufflers
Exhaust work is one of the first upgrades people ask about at our shop, and in the Valley it earns its keep for reasons that have nothing to do with sound. The heat here is brutal — a stock muffler and pipes cook under a truck that idles in traffic on Nolana or pulls a trailer up Highway 281 in July. Rust is the other half of the story: the Gulf humidity and the salt air that ride in on the afternoon breeze eat mild-steel pipe from the inside out, so an aluminized or stainless system lasts years longer than the factory part it replaces. We build exhaust that survives the climate first and sounds good second.
What it costs on a RAM 1500
- Entry
- $150–$400 (muffler swap)
- Mid
- $500–$1,200 (cat-back)
- Premium
- $1,200+ (full stainless system)
Final price depends on your RAM 1500 year, cab, and bed. We quote up front.
