How we serve Harlingen

Harlingen anchors the Cameron County side of the Valley with Valley International Airport, a major VA hospital, and a distribution and retail base. It sits between our La Feria shop and our Brownsville mobile service, so it is easy to reach either one.

Harlingen's trucks serve healthcare, airport, and distribution work — a lot of fleet and light-commercial use. That means caps and bed protection for cargo, service on trucks that run daily, and upfitting for delivery fleets. We cover Harlingen from La Feria and our Brownsville mobile service.

Harlingen's fleet and delivery trucks need uptime more than anything. That means caps and bed protection that keep cargo secure, service scheduled around routes, and upfitting that standardizes a fleet so drivers learn one layout. We cover Harlingen from La Feria and our mobile units, so there is always a location within a short drive.

Custom Fabrication for trucks in Harlingen

Custom fabrication is for the jobs a catalog part cannot solve. A lift kit, an oversize tire or an older truck moves the frame, the mounts and the clearances in ways a mass-produced bumper or step was never measured for. When a bolt-on part will not sit right, we build the part that does. Bumpers, rock sliders, bed racks, cages, fender work and one-off brackets are designed around your truck's actual measurements, then welded, fitted and finished in our shop in the Rio Grande Valley.

Most of the work starts with one of three problems: a lifted truck that needs a bumper with the right approach angle and a winch mount that does not flex, a work or ranch truck that needs a rack built for its exact bed, or an older truck whose parts are no longer made. We measure the truck, not a spec sheet. Everything is quoted up front, and we tell you when an off-the-shelf part would actually be the better and cheaper call.

Options

  • Custom bumpers — Front and rear bumpers built to your truck's measurements with the recovery points, winch mount and lighting you actually use. Tied into the frame, not the sheet metal.
  • Rock sliders and steps — Slider steps and protection built for the body lift and clearance of your truck. Strong enough to take a hit and carry the weight of the vehicle, not just a step.
  • Bed racks and cages — Bed racks, headache racks, ladder racks and cages for work, ranch and overland use. Built around your exact bed length and the load you carry.
  • Fender and flare work — Fender trim, flare mounts, bumper-to-fender blending and repair work where rust or a trail hit has changed the original lines.
  • One-off brackets and mounts — Brackets, mounts, skid plates, light tabs and adapters for accessories that do not have an off-the-shelf home on your truck.
  • Notch-style fender flares — Custom fender flares built notch-style around a lift and wider wheels, with the trim and mounting tied to your truck's actual fender line. We form and weld them to clear the tire through full droop and keep gravel off the paint.

What the job includes

  • Truck measured and fitment confirmed before any cutting
  • Design and placement checked with a mock-up
  • Frame-tied mounting: approach and departure angles checked
  • Coat (powder coat or protective liner) and stainless or coated hardware for coastal air
  • Reinstall, torque check and a fit-and-function test
  • Workmanship warranty on the fabrication and the install

What it costs

Entry
$300–$800 (brackets, mounts, simple step or trim work)
Mid
$800–$2,500 (custom bumper, slider set or bed rack)
Premium
$2,500+ (full bumper with winch and lights, cage or multi-part build)

A bracket or mount is a same-day job. A custom bumper, set of sliders or bed rack is usually a two- to five-day build depending on design and finish — the truck is measured and mocked up, the part is fabricated, then coated and reinstalled. A full cage or a multi-part build takes longer and we schedule it. Coating and cure time is part of the quote and we do not rush it. We give you a build window up front and, where the design allows, keep the truck for the fit and final install rather than the whole build.

How it compares

Off-the-shelf wins on price and speed when your truck is stock and the part exists. Fabrication wins when the truck is lifted or older, the part does not exist, the load is heavy or the fit has to be exact. A catalog bumper is a known quantity with a manufacturer's finish warranty; a fabricated one is built to your measurements and can be repaired and re-coated instead of replaced. The honest split is that maybe half the trucks we see are better served by a good bolt-on, and we tell them so. The other half need the part that no one else makes.
